Service technologique La Relance (STLR)

Established in 1993 by Industry Canada and the Telephone Pioneers, technology The Recovery Service (STLR) collects and repairs old computers. Each year, nearly 50,000 computers arrive at STLR following donations from various levels of government and the private sector.

After crossing the repair process, the refurbished computers are distributed across Canada. On average, more than 25 000 computers that are sent annually to all provinces and territories. The main donees are schools, libraries and registered non-profit organizations that promote learning.

STLR together so far, 42 employees regular passionate about IT and electronics. It's The Recovery Outaouais manages the STLR and this since 1 July 2001. She provides employment insertion programs such as program acquisition 'professional experience (PEAP) and

more cooperative Students program., the STLR is symbolically a showcase of Canada. Many tours are organized every year, allowing delegations from around the world to enrich the experience. As of today, 53 countries sent delegations to the model of the STLR and to initiate similar programs.
